Mundus Vini: Grand Gold & Best of Show Argentina

On tuesday the 27th of February the results of the 2018 edition of Mundus Vini were released. With great pride we would like to inform you that the Pyros Barrel Selected Syrah 2015 was awarded "Grand Gold" and "Best of Show Argentina".

Nearly 270 international wine experts from 44 countries spent six days critically judging almost 6,770 wines from more than 150 wine growing regions all over the world. Only 33 wines were awarded Grand Gold of which 3 from the New World and only one from Argentina: Pyros Barrel Selected Syrah 2015.

Treasure trove of 120 year-old Pol Roger champagne unearthed from collapsed cellar

One of the world’s oldest champagne makers has just struck liquid gold.

Pol Roger, the French champagne house whose bubbly was famous for being Sir Winston Churchill’s favourite tipple, has unearthed a treasure trove of bottles that lay hidden in the ruins of collapsed cellars for more than a century.

Experts say the 26 bottles so far recovered could well still be drinkable, and that there may well be many more from the million or so lost at the time.
