43 Chilean vineyards with Sustainability seal

End of year sees 43 Chilean vineyards with Sustainability seal

As the end of 2013 draws in, a total of 43 Chilean vineyards have been awarded the Sustainability seal so far. The National Sustainability Code is a program spearheaded by Wines of Chile that recognizes companies meeting different environmental and social sustainability requirements throughout wine and grape production processes.
The certificates were awarded during the ‘Sustainability Challenges in the Viticulture Industry’ seminar earlier in the month, led by the Sub secretary of Agriculture, Alvaro Cruzat, and the President of Vinos de Chile, Rene Araneda. International experts from Holland and Sweden also gave presentations.
“Sustainability implies to take care and responsibility of the possible environmental, social and economic risks, while maintaining good relations and solid channels of communication with different interested parties,” said Rene Araneda at the presentation.
The vineyards recognized were: Almaviva, Altair, Anakena, Arboleda, Calcu, Caliterra, Canepa, Carmen, Casa Rivas, Casa Silva, Concha y Toro, Cono Sur, Cremaschi Furlotti, Echeverría, Emiliana, Errazuriz, Fray León, Leyda, Maipo, Maquis, Maycas del Limari, Miguel Torres, Misiones de Rengo, Montes, Montgras, Morandé, Nativa Eco Wines, Palo Alto, Pérez Cruz, Quinta Maipo, San Pedro, Santa Cruz, Santa Ema, Santa Helena, Santa Rita, Seña, Sur Andino, Tarapacá, Ventisquero, Via Wines, Viña Mar, Vistamar and Viu Manent.
